Promotional Effects of Rare-Earth Praseodymium (Pr) Modification over MCM-41 for Methyl Mercaptan Catalytic Decomposition

چکیده
Praseodymium (Pr)-promoted MCM-41 catalyst was investigated for the catalytic decomposition of methyl mercaptan (CH3SH). Various characterization techniques, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption–desorption, temperature-programmed desorption ammonia (NH3-TPD) and carbon dioxide (CO2-TPD), hydrogen reduction (H2-TPR), photoelectron spectrometer (XPS), were carried out to analyze physicochemical properties material. XPS results showed that praseodymium presented on modified in form oxide species, which can react with coke deposit prolong stability until 120 h. Meanwhile, strong acid sites proved be main active center over 10% Pr/MCM-41 by NH3-TPD during elimination mercaptan. The possible reaction mechanism proposed analyzing product distribution results. final products mainly small-molecule products, methane (CH4) sulfide (H2S). Dimethyl (CH3SCH3) a intermediate reaction. Therefore, this work contributes understanding process design anti-carbon deposition catalysts.

Environmental concern associated with safe handling disposal of corrosive mineral acids such as HF have encouraged the development of safer and non waste producing alternative for application in catalysis. In this sense ,mesoporous materials attracted much attention of catalysis to transform big molecules into its useful products. In the present study we have synthesized, mesoporous Fe-MCM-41an...
متن کاملEffects of surface treatment of MCM-41
To apply mobile crystalline material 41 (MCM-41), which has a larger specific surface area than many other nanoporous silicas, for energy absorption, chlorotrimethylsilane treatment is performed to adjust the structure of inner surfaces of nanopores. As the treatment time is sufficiently long, the pore surface can be changed from hydrophilic to hydrophobic, leading to an energy absorption effic...

Adsorption of methanol and ethanol over mesoporous siliceous material are studied in the current paper. The pure mesoporous silica is prepared using tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) as silica source and dodecylamine as template at low pH. The prepared material was characterized using nitrogen adsorption,nX-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The adsorption kinetics of me...
متن کاملagainst Methyl Mercaptan
The deodorizing mechanism of (-)-epigallocatechin gallate (ECCg), the main constituent of a green tea extract, against methyl mercaptan (CH,SH) was investigated. EGCg showed deodorizing activity against CH3SH by a chemica] reaction between EGCg and CH3SH. The non-volatile reaction products were identified to be compounds introducing a methylthio andlor a methylsulfinyl group into the B ring of ...
